Signs its the start of another vicious cycle
You always know when its the start of the new semester.
Its something in the air.
The students are excited that they can put aside last semester's headaches and learn something new.
After all, THIS may be the semester that we always talk about.
You know, the one where we'll regularly revise our lecture notes.
The one where we'll complete all our tutes on time and prepare next week's tutorial questions before the tute so we can ask questions.
The one where our assignments will all be done on time so that we wont have to stay up in uni till midnight a couple of nights before.
The one where we'll pay attention 100% of the time in class, and not waste time doodling or surfing the internet on our iPhones.
Its the final semester for us, and if any semester is going to be THAT semester, this feels like it should be it. It has to be, there arent any semesters left.
Yes, its time to finally have THAT semester.
But someone should tell Kin Eu.

You never appreciate what you have...
... till its gone.
Or accidentally taken away by your useless internet service provider.
But all is good, and the new semester is underway.
Quite interesting to see who made it to final semester and who didn't.
Which by the way is shaping up to be the hardest semester yet, but thats expected I guess.
Even with a pseudo 3 days off a week, it still doesn't mean theres enough time to do everything. And the other 2 days are so cramped full with classes its draining.
What it does mean however is that I wont have the time to be like Sarah and post up collage series for all my friends' birthdays (which are filling up my Google Reader everyday). You'd think a law student would have less time on her hands. I know, I'm surprised too.
May the new semester have mercy on all of us.

Once More
March 07. That was the date of my last post. Whats happened since then?
Not much, not really.
Theres the first semester of my final year.
Theres the so called 'secret' club I joined this year.
But really, the theme of this semester has to be:
That you cant always get what you want. Even if you put in all the effort.
Take this blog for example, aspire800.blogspot.com. I've been trying to get edwinng.blogspot.com for years now, and recently redoubled my efforts because the guy who owns it had left it idle for a long time.
After a long long search on multiple forums, I realised that once you're assigned a blogspot name, its yours forever. And ever.
I will probably never get to use edwinng.blogspot.com ever. To date, emailing 'Edwin Ng' @ edwinng.blogspot.com has been useless as well as adding him on MSN.
Or how about my lecturer who was ridiculous to give us crap for our assignment when we did essentially the same thing as other groups (Its a really long story).
In short, whoever told you that hard work would guarantee results has probably never tried it themselves.

Perspective
I used to hate dentists.
I used to hate my dentist.
I didnt like the way he was always so cheerful when I was feeling pain.
And then one day my appointment got canceled.
Miffed, I had to go to a different dentist.
This one didnt smile at me, no assuring words, no words at all.
And then I found out my proper dentist canceled his appointments because his daughter of about 9-10 years was just diagnosed with cancer.
And I will never ever hate my dentist ever again.

Since all of you are doing it, might as well
In a Word.
Best. Quote. Ever.
"Life is like a dick; when its hard, fuck it"
Oh and guess what 4 people, with only 3 hours of practice, produced one day at Akarkarya Studios.
Something to note: Our electric guitarist had not played an electric guitar before, and our drummer has not had a music lesson in his entire life.
Considering that, I think this is brilliant.
